Do you ever have sales on the Bugatchi shirts?

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

In a nutshell- it’s rare. Our items are all priced to fit within the Bugatchi Uomo marketing strategy as an upscale quality product. By staying with that strategy we are able to access inventory in 1000’s of styles, colors and sizes. Typically some shirts are $5 off of retail. We also will discount shirts at the end of the season, if there is adequate stock, or if we know another store is having a sale.

Our hotel and other reseller buyers pay wholesale prices.
Our corporate buyers who buy in volume with their logo embroidered also can obtain substantial discounts on some shirts.

Do you have a showroom?

Monday, July 21st, 2008

We do not have a showroom for consumers. Consumers can visit their local Nordstrom’s for many Bugatchi products.

We do have a showroom by appointment only for our resellers.
Our retail purchasing agents, ie resellers, have a number of ways to view our Collections. The Jack Nicklaus and Bugatchi showrooms are both located in South Florida, though in different cities. We are currently reviewing the feasibility of a seasonal collection presented online. What do you think? Is this a good idea, or do you attend enough trade shows that you think this is redundant?

When will silk shirts be in stock?

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

We’ve had problems getting adequate inventory of quality silk shirts for all 2008. Our retail buyers should always advance order adequate stock for their operations- four months advance is standard.

For our consumer buyers, I anticipate limited stock becoming available from September to December. Your best option is to sign up for our email list. We’ll certainly be sending out a notice as soon as we have it available.

As an alternative, I highly recommend stock # 1508. Our customers love this shirt which is in stock in plenty of colors and sizes, and the fabric is one of the nicest you’ll ever wear. No exaggeration!

executive gifts

Friday, July 18th, 2008

Lately I’ve been fielding calls for executive gift ideas. Some marketing directors are planning now which is an excellent idea. If you want a quantity of shirts in a popular color, plan on 4 month’s advance notice to be sure you can get the sizes, styles, and colors you want.

What are great gifts for CEO’s and executives?

If it’s not the right gift it will be re-gifted in minutes. During the holidays, I know some company President’s that select one item and then everything else is put into a holiday grab bag for employees.

The older the executive the more creative you need to be. If the CEO is a popular business leader, i.e. involved in the community, surely he or she will have received just about everything you can imagine, including lots of plaques and clocks. It helps to know a lot about your recipient and the best place to get that information is the executive assistant.

I’ve found two items that are still working strong. The first is the tour size Windbrella golf umbrella. Some have already received one, but maybe lost it or loaned one to a friend who didn’t return it. We’re planning a charity golf tournament now that we gave away the golf umbrella four years ago to. The committee was unanimous in getting the same umbrella because most no longer had their original. None broke, they just were lost over time. Everyone agreed it was the best umbrella they ever had and they really missed it. This is what you want- people remembering what a great gift it was, and where it came from!

The second item is a high quality shirt, which you have to give with forethought. By that, I mean you need to find out the shirt size, color, and style preferences in advance. Why buy all solid black shirts if most of them wear colorful or pinstripe shirts? What’s the risk of running out of large and having the wrong size left for someone who comes later to the registration table? Observe what your recipient wears when he’s not in the office. Take notes at the next tournament you play in, or simply look through the post- tournament pictures of what the executives you want to reach were wearing. Lastly, be careful about logo placement. Many won’t wear shirts with logos, unless it’s what I call a ‘badge of honor’ logo, such as Dan Marino’s Celebrity Golf Tournament.

If you must have a logo, then I recommend the Bugatchi polo golf shirt. If you’re willing to pass up the logo, or are OK with a subtle tonal logo on the sleeve, then I recommend the Bugatchi ribbed shirt. It’s the kind of shirt they always remember where it came from, because they love the shirt so much. Every time they wear it, they’ll feel good and associate those good feelings with your tournament or your company.

Are Bugatchi ribbed shirts with long sleeve and mock neck in?

Friday, July 11th, 2008

The long sleeve mock ottoman knit is a fall/winter shirt. We have some product in, and more inventory will be available in September. The bulk of our winter inventory arrives in October. For the mock neck, we have stock for leaf green, marine blue, rosemary, ruby, russett orange, steel, and victoria blue at this time. This shirt is also available in crew neck and 3 button polo style in long-sleeve; crew neck, half-zip, and 3 button polo style in short-sleeve.

Due to high popularity, I strongly encourage advance ordering long sleeve Bugatchi ribbed shirts. We were out of stock in some of the most popular colors and sizes prior to Christmas last year.

Can you help me choose the best color shirts?

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

I get these phone calls all the time. It’s a big help if you tell us a little about you. What is your skin color? Hair color? What do you live? Some people prefer conservative solids, others bold fashion colors. We’re shooting in the dark if we don’t have this basic information about you.

The big color philosophy is seasons. Know your color season, and it’s easier to pick your clothing colors so you can look your best. Warm skin tones tend to have yellow undertones. You may have golden skin or appear sallow. Cool skin tones have blue undertones; characteristics are red or ruddy cheeks.

SPRING- If your skin color is warm and muted you are a SPRING. Warm, clear colors, such as melon or lime.

WINTER- if your skin color is cool and clear you are a WINTER. Winters can wear cool, clear colors such as black, white, gardenia and navy blue.

AUTUMN- if your skin color is warm and you are an AUTUMN. Wear warm, muted colors like olive green, sand, robusta, dandelion.

SUMMER- If your skin color is and cool and muted you are a SUMMER. Wear cool, muted colors such as burgundy or pastels such as lemon, wisteria.

If your coloring is clear, you’ll have a large contrast between your hair, skin and eyes and your skin will have a slight translucent quality. If you are muted, however, there will be a less noticeable contrast and you may have some ash tones in your coloring. Your coloring will probably be softer than that of a clear person.

Many people can wear colors from another palette that shares characteristics with their own season’s palette.
Not sure if you are a warm or cool color? Use the Gold and Silver Test. In front of a mirror, put a piece of metallic gold fabric or paper near your face, then do the same with a metallic silver piece of fabric or paper. One should be much more flattering than the other. If you are flattered by gold, you’re a warm. Silver is cool.

Quick color reference guide:

o Fair skin, grey, platinum
o Beige skin, try blue, ocean, midnight
o Golden skin, try green
o Bronze skin, try orange, dandelion
o Deep skin, try ruby red or pink
