TENCEL® is Lenzing Fibers’ brand name for lyocell. A major break-through was made with the development of the unique nanofibril structure of this fiber. TENCEL®, made from wood pulp cellulose, offers a unique combination of the most desirable properties of man made and natural fibers: soft as silk, strong as polyester, cool as linen, warm as wool and as absorbent as cotton. Quite simply a “break-through” fiber.
The Bugatchi Tencel shirt introduced for the Fall/Winter 2008- 2009 season feels at least as soft as their high modal rayon content shirts, maybe even softer. It’s definitely a lightweight fabric. There is some stretchiness to the shirt, but minimal.
Lenzing calls Tencel® environmentally friendly and a good choice for people with sensitive skin. However, process of dying the fabric may include treatments with chemicals that could affect your skin. CEOgolfshop has never received any negative customer feedback about any Bugatchi shirts. In fact, most customers rave about how the shirts are the best they have ever worn,
Tencel garments are often recommended as good for travel because they pack light and retain their shape. Many Tencel® pieces are machine washable; though you should follow the label’s instructions for specific wear. If washed in cold water, Tencel® garments shrink about 3% with the first washing, but then won’t shrink in future washes. Tencel® also dries quickly, so drip-drying it may not take long.
The Tencel fabric compares favorably to silk shirts as well. Most people like silk for the hand feel. The Tencel shirts have a superb hand feel, but also are easier to care for and probably hold their shape better in varying weather, especially high humidity.

New for the 2008-09 Fall/Winter season, Bugatchi launched a new knit made with 85% modal rayon and 15% polyester. The fabric is so soft and smooth it feel’s like heaven on earth. The medium weight stretchy knit is perfect for fall weather. I don’t know whether to call this a sweater or sweatshirt or just a knit shirt. It’s lighter than a typical sweatshirt but heavier than your average shirt.
The Bugatchi knit is available in three styles including, long sleeve mock neck, long sleeve half zip with self collar, and short sleeve crew neck. For those who love the ribbed modal rayon shirt, I think this smooth fabric makes a nice addition to your Bugatchi collection, giving a little variety in fabric textures you wear.

In a nutshell- it’s rare. Our items are all priced to fit within the Bugatchi Uomo marketing strategy as an upscale quality product. By staying with that strategy we are able to access inventory in 1000’s of styles, colors and sizes. Typically some shirts are $5 off of retail. We also will discount shirts at the end of the season, if there is adequate stock, or if we know another store is having a sale.
Our hotel and other reseller buyers pay wholesale prices.
Our corporate buyers who buy in volume with their logo embroidered also can obtain substantial discounts on some shirts.

We do not have a showroom for consumers. Consumers can visit their local Nordstrom’s for many Bugatchi products.
We do have a showroom by appointment only for our resellers.
Our retail purchasing agents, ie resellers, have a number of ways to view our Collections. The Jack Nicklaus and Bugatchi showrooms are both located in South Florida, though in different cities. We are currently reviewing the feasibility of a seasonal collection presented online. What do you think? Is this a good idea, or do you attend enough trade shows that you think this is redundant?

Even though my last post is on a very similar subject, I feel compelled to write about it again.
Yesterday I ran 5 miles in heavy humidity, and was rained on several times. I was wearing a hanes cotton t-shirt and moisture wicking running shorts. Needless to say, when I was done, the t-shirt was pretty wet, but the shorts were not. What’s the relationship with golf shirts?
I’m petite and in pretty good shape so I don’t sweat much when golfing, but many of our golf store shoppers do. I’m often asked which is the best shirt?
The fabric from brand to brand may list the same composition, yet they react very differently to wear and tear and the environment. Here’s my picks for those who sweat a lot:
1. Bugatchi performance golf shirts. The best in class for moisture wicking, the shirts provide UV protection and breathability. The unique fabric is like no other moisture wicking shirt we’ve tested, and in fact the material is made exclusively for Bugatchi.
2. Bugatchi modal rayon shirt. These can be found by entering “1643″ in the search bar in our online store. The shirts breathe and the fabric dries quickly. Technically they are not moisture wicking, but this shirt is exceptional for the golf course and under a sportcoat.
3. The Bugatchi Egyptian cotton golf shirt and any mercerized cotton shirts. Cotton is a natural fabric so it offers the most breathability. However, as my recent run proved, if you have excess moisture, the shirt will not dry out as quickly as others. This is a tournament favorite and is recommended for all golfers regardless of how much they sweat.

Are you looking for a golf shirt with UV protection? Available in styles for both men and women, I tested the Bugatchi shirt with UV 50+ protection on consecutive days vs a FAMOUS NAME BRAND.
You can read my Bugatchi Women performance wear shirt review here.
The Bugatchi shirt is by far the nicest feel, fit, and performance of any moisture wicking shirt I have ever worn. I combined the red shirt with the silver Bugatchi Women textured skort, flower pattern. The first person I saw that day said I looked stunning. Sun exposure to my skin was completely blocked. I do not care for most moisture wicking shirts because they tend to be hot. This one actually breathed and I could feel the light breeze through the fabric. I really like a soft fabric on my skin and this is definitely best in class.
The next brand I tried was just as I expected- another disappointment. I generally can tell by the fabric feel whether I am going to love it or not and this one failed right away on the ‘touch test’.
Day 3. Bugatchi vs Nike dri-fit? Ok this was a pretty good match. I liked the Nike dri-fit feel this season and paid full price to test a complete outfit. Everything fit nice and worked pretty well on the course. It’s not as soft, but it’s not as much money either. However, after one wash carefully following instructions, the Nike products (top & skort) look worn and required ironing. Even so, it will never look like it did on the rack again. And this is another reason why the Bugatchi brand is far superior to others, not just in my opinion, but also that of our customers.
Long lasting, color fast, nice feel. They’re made that way, and they stay that way.

CEOgolfshop.com sells Bugatchi shirts via it’s online store to CEO’s throughout North America. Additionally, we sell to corporations, most of which put their logo on the shirts.
Bugatchi shirts are rarely found at a discount, unless a brick and mortar retailer is closing out limited availability seasonal stock. Bugatchi shirts are not available everywhere. Resellers are carefully selected so as to control the branding and pricing. So how come if you search the internet, there are tons of listings that if you click on them, the site does not even sell any Bugatchi products? Unfortunately there are people out there trying to capitalize on the brand, lure them in, and then try to convince the customer to buy a different brand. Or sometimes it is shopping comparison sites. They all list the same store and they collect a fee, so these shopping portals spend a lot of money promoting the product.
At this time, CEOgolfshop.com does not pay to list all the Bugatchi products in the online shopping portals. We promote our own online store and that’s it. Hopefully, we’ll gain back our number one google position and knock out all those companies that don’t really sell the product. Until then, we’re going to try a few other things and see if we can’t boost our rankings.
